Eye Shadow Secrets
coloredeyeshadowHere come some secrets of how to apply eye shadow in such a way that it would not get crooked (mismatch your eyes), it would look neither too dark no blotchily blended and that it would not extend to the wrong, wrong, wrong upper reaches of the eyelids.

Secret #1: Blending is the key

Actually this is not a secret for the great majority of women at all, therefore, not everyone knows how to blend correctly. As a rule we apply three colors of eye shades, which are:

 The base, which is in most cases a very light taupe;
 The highlighter, which is applied for the crease;
 The main color, which is put on the lid.

And here the question how to get all these shades looks as if they merge into each other just like those, of a rainbow? The best way to do it is to start light and then go darker. First of all the base color is to be brushed, then the turn of a lid color comes, and, finally, one should apply the highlighter. Anyway, practice and practice – this is the only thing that really works. You should play with your makeup at least several days before some big event.

Extra tip: try not to be too heavy – handed, otherwise you will possible have to start all over again.

Secret #2: Choose shadows that make the color of your eyes pop

The days, when most beauty experts advised not to apply blue shadow have already gone. It should be noted, that matching the color of your eye shadow with the color of your eyes actually brings the color out (imagine blue eye shadow, applied on blue eyes); at the same time, however, contrasting colors make your eyes pop as well (imagine a deep jeweled blue eye shadow, applied on brown eyes).

Secret #3: Never cover your brow bone with deep color -- unless you're doing a cover shoot for Vogue

There is no doubt that you would not like the drama too much eye shadow usually brings. This is why you should never apply the eye shadow up until the brow bone, but try to avoid applying the eye shadow ON the bone, unless it would be some neutral color or a highlighter.

Secret #4: Highlighter can make or break your look

Remember, that in case if you are going to apply some dark color of eye shadow up to the crease of your eye, it is necessary to be extremely careful to blend only on the outside edge. If you get too close to the eye this will make your eyes look teeny and beady.
