5. Propylene glycol is the element which is present in many facial moisturizers and hand/body lotions. However it may damage cell membranes and lead to rashes, dry skin and the surface of your skin can be damaged. It’s also an ingredient of industrial anti-freeze.

6. Ingredients which the prefix word or syllable PEG like in Polyethylene glycol, polyethylene, eth as in sodium laureth sulfate may be contaminated with 1,4-dioxane, which has negative effect on your skin and cause different harmful reactions. If they are used repeatedly it can lead to contact dermatitis and the symptoms like itching, irritation, soreness, redness and swelling of the contact areas, watering of your eyes and a general feeling of discomfort can occur. Also you may suffer from other feelings which are not connected to chemical sensitization, for example  spaciness, mood swings, restlessness, anger, irritability, inability to concentrate or memory lapses. If the make up products also includes added fragrances you can suffer from watery eyes, increased skin redness, skin irritation and allergic reactions.

When you apply the product for the first time you can feel contact reactions, but  repeated use may cause full blown allergic reactions and multiple chemical sensitivities. However, unlike simple irritants which cause a non allergic inflammation at the site of the contact and disappear when you stop using the product, allergens and sensitizers damage your immune system. Their effects are similar to the simple irritants however you can notice the reaction only between 24 and 48 hours later. Some symptoms can become even more intense over the next two or three days after the exposure. Also these irritants can occur in the parts of the body which haven't been in contact with the harmful ingredients and can be triggered with very small amounts.
