There is no need to buy a special face painting kit to create special effects for the Halloween. Various effects can be achieved with the help of items which you already have in your cosmetic bag or kitchen cupboard. 

Here are a few useful tips and tricks for creating interesting face paints for Halloween:
Creating face effects:
1. A pale look of zombie or ghouls can be achieved with the help of a very light foundation. To create a ghost white complexion you should mix together chalk and vegetable shortening and apply it evenly to the whole face.

2. Instant age can be made by dusting your hair and clothing with baby powder. Dark circles under the eyes and the illusion of wrinkles can be created with blue and purple eye shadow.

3. If you want to make Frankenstein neck bolts you should take styrofoam packing peanuts and paint them with black paint and after that they can be adhered to the neck with corn cyrup or a homemade paste (flour+water).

4. You can also make warts if you adhere peppercorns or small pieces of styrofoam to your face with the help of flour and water or corn cyrup.

1. Facial hair can be created if you moisten a sponge and apply with it dark eye shadow or cake mascara. If you blot the sponge you can also create mustashes, sideburns and beard if you wish. Another technique is to apply it to your entire face in order to make your complexion darker. 

2. To achieve flowing beard or crazy eyebrows you should unbraid and frizz a string of yarn or crepe wool. It can be adhered to the face with the help of a mixture of water and flour. To remove the «hair» soap and water can be used.

3. More interesting eyebrow effects can be created if you hide your own eyebrows with flour and water paste.  Then apply the layer of foundation to the paste and draw new crazy shapes.

4. To create the illusion that you don't have any hair at all you need to cover your sculp with the toe end of a pair of pantyhose. This look can be completed with crepe wool or yarn which can be glued to it.

Wounds
1. To make bruises you need to use blue, green or yellow eye shadow.

2. An illusion of an open wound can be achieved by applying a combination of red food coloring and petroleum jelly to your skin. To make the edges of the wound darker, use a powdered cocoa. To create a fesrering wound, first apply baking soda, then thinly coat with vinegar from a spray bottle and allow it to dry.

3. The easiest task is to make the fake blood. You should just mix white corn syrup and water in a 2 to 1 proportion. Then add drops of red food coloring and a few drops of blue and yellow until the desire  hade is reached. 

Many different items which you allready have in your cupboard can be used to create various specials effects for Halloween. It will be also very useful if you set your make up with a baby powder so that it doesn't run.

To remove the make up you will need just a bit of make up remover and soap and water.
