Clown Tutorial
clowns_makeupCreating your clown face - clown make-up introduction
Since clown make-up isn't a mask & doesn't hide your features, but instead exaggerates them (either a little or a lot, depending on your type of clown)So, spend some time examining your face. Find your most prominent features, what 'sticks out' from across the room… Examine the shape of your face and define what you want your make-up to be- rather symmetrical or not (i.e. the left side should be a mirror image of the right side).

Begin with finding the ideas of how your unique face should best shine through your clown face.
The reason is that you don't want to simply copy some other clown's make-up. It wouldn't look right on you. In addition you would be saying "I'm a copy of a clown, nothing unique or original here!" For example, you have a rounder face, so, it would be a mistake for you to copy some clown with a long, angular face. The make-up would look 'squashed', and simply wrong. Consider nobody else's design is going to look right on your face.

Clown Make-up
2 tsp white shortening
5 tsp corn starch
1 tsp white all purpose flour
glycerin as directed
Food coloring as desired
When you use a rubber spatula, blend the first three ingredients on a plate until a smooth paste is formed. Then add 3/4 drops glycerin for a creamier consistency. Consider yield should be enough to complete a child's face. For more make-up, make the amount you will need before adding the coloring one drop at a time blending after each drop until you have the desired shade. Applying the make up to the face you will have better results if you stroke in one direction. For wearing makeup off, use cold cream or baby oil.
