| Cleopatra's makeup ideas | Definitely one of the most well-known Egyptian pharaohs, Cleopatra VII Philopater ("father-lover") has captured the imaginations of countless artists and authors. In The Tragedie of Anthonie, and Cleopatra written by William Shakespeare, (better known as Antony and Cleopatra), John Dryden's All for Love, Victorien Sardou's Cleopatra, George Bernard Shaw's Caesar and Cleopatra, and the numerous Cleopatra-peopled films of the twentieth century, each artist has invested his own period's interpretation in the lady.
Cleopatra's makeup:
To darken and define the eyelids were used ground minerals, such as the greenish-black galena; ochre could tint the lips. All Egyptian women would stain their nails, the soles of their feet, and their palms a  reddish hue with henna, which was also used as a hair dye.
Despite of them, Hellenistic women rubbed white led powder into their skin to make it fairer, and they used extracts of various plants and seaweeds to create rouges for their lips and cheeks.
They used carmine on their lips.
To give their checks color they would mix red clay with saffron.
Most people don't have the ingredients to create the makeup that Cleopatra would have worn. So, here is how you can look like Cleopatra.
To give you a common Egyptian skin color can be used a dark foundation. Though, Cleopatra's skin tone was not known. And regular lip and cheek makeup can be used.
Eye Makeup: For a start, take black eyeliner and trace around your eye. Apply the eyeliner on the outside of the eyes. Use blue eye shadow and sweep it past the eyelid. And then, green eye shadow should then be used under the eyes.
The green eye shadow should also be swept past the eye.
The Cleopatra eyebrows should be darkened, usually with black. Thus, Egyptians would have shaved their eyebrows and used kohl to draw them back in. They would have shaped them as a triangle and drawn with pointed edges.
Most Egyptians shaved their heads and wore dark wigs, mostly black. Hence, to look even more like Cleopatra, a black wig can be worn.
